First Snow and Three Abreast
Students enjoyed the Halloween snowstorm as they learned how to remove snowballs from the bottom of each horses' hooves. Also, students rigged the lines to work Pete, Rex and Lincoln in a three abreast configuration--a great farm hitch.

Training Teamsters: Cart Work from the Ground
Students master essential skills in low-risk environments prior to actually needed those skills while working in the woodlot. Here, students learn that carts can be turned on a single-wheel pivot around a cone. This skill is important while working in the tight confines of a woodlot.

Training Teamsters: Horse Logging Trials
Students practice, and are required to master, essential skills necessary for safe horse logging extaction of logs from our woodlot in a relatively low-risk setting prior to going into the woods for work.
